  Do not hire Mr. Hahner as your lawyer, or if he gets assigned to you as an attorney ad litem petition for a new lawyer!!! He handled our case with laziness, unprofessionalism, and in a biased manner. He made my 10 year old nephew cry while interviewing him (pressed him to answer a two part question and when he didn't respond fast enough yelled at him). He accused my parents of being liars when interviewing the kids (not much of an open mind when you start off an interview making accusations about two kids grandparents, not to mention unprofessional and just morally wrong). They wanted to tell the world their story, and were excited someone other than us would listen to their concerns and wishes. He concluded that the kids were "parroting" us. They are 10 and 12 and smart kids who lived the life that Mr. Hahner wouldn't listen to. I think he already had made his mind up and had a preconceived notion on the entire matter. He did not respect my niece and nephew one bit for not recognizing them as strong, independent children with their own personalities and opinions. It's a shame he didn't even give their voices a chance. His report to the court was an atrocity. His interviews, all of which he did via phone (although we offered to pay travel costs to perform a thorough investigation), were grossly inaccurate or missing entire crucial pieces of information. Not to mention, it was full of many grammatical errors and random punctuation throughout. It was clear he rushed through the report. It is clear to me that Mr. Hahner is unprofessional and biased. I hope nobody else makes the mistake of placing their trust in him as an attorney or attorney ad litem for any child. I hope he realizes how he's affected two young children, and he is in part responsible for how they turn out. Mr. Hahner, I don't see how you can stand to look yourself in the mirror and call yourself a professional acting in the best interests of anyone.
